My Week In Pictures #1

I had an idea of doing this on a weekly basis. A place to upload my weeks pictures. It'll be on a Wednesday as i work Thursday/Friday so my week runs sat - wed. Just completely random but I'll explain them if you need it.

So here we go - My week.....

Ok so i cheated. Some were from my camera rather than my phone but you get the idea. It's been a good week!

I'm actually editing to give credit where it's due. Years ago now *sob* i worked with a wonderfully classy lady called Franky. She kept a million balls in the air between working, raising gorgeous children, writing her dissertation and staying fabulously glam and beautiful. Sadly we no longer work together but i frequently check in with her beautiful blog Love Audrey 
Every sunday Franky posts My Weekend Has Mainly Been Spent... which includes pictures and little short sentences on how The Audreys have spent their time together. I always read it with eagerness to see how her children are growing up and what tasty recipes i can steal from her! I have to give her credit for this post, for it was inspired by her.

Errr, i rule

Just quickly, before i settle myself with hot chocolate and a movie i wanted to share this with you. I ROCK at omelettes! Look at that puffiness... I'll share my fail-safe method with you tomorrow. Have a great tuesday night my lovelies x

Meal planning?

I often attempt to meal plan. It doesn't go well. I have all these great ideas which inevitably end up by the wayside as my 'can't be bothered' personality comes to the forefront. Bear in mind too that three nights Dude is at his dads and one of those i get back from work at 7pm and then i *really* can't be arsed! But i got a new cook book last week, to go with the many many (possibly a hundred) that i have, read, coo over and out on the shelf! 

So this week i am determined to plan at least two of out five nights together. I haven't seen him since thursday morning and i'm feeling very domestic and mother-ish. Don't worry. It won't last. Tomorrow night it's pizza, mainly because out local amazing pizzeria is closing on friday night and i need to get my fill while i still can. Another issue in this is that i have one of the fussiest children ever. Nothing with sauce. Nothing with visible bits of tomato or onion. And yet i am the comfort food Queen. Nothing nicer than a rich beef stew with shallots and red wine. Yum. But not for Dude. Weird kid. So my plan for this week is this... 

Italian Meatballs, followed by Chocolate Fudge Shortbread!

If they work out, i'll post the recipes. He's eaten meatballs before. The sauce might be an issue but with the addition of a blender, we may get some success!

Egg Laying Action

Just to add, to help you get over the excitement of a fancy to blog to add to your blog roll of whatever, i went up to my sisters today. She's got nine chickens which make THE best cakes and scrambled eggs you'll ever have! I took a few pictures. Here are a couple. Happy bank holiday y'all!

The Title?

Hello there! Firstly i feel i should explain the title of the blog as it stands. Well actually before that you should know that this is a reincarnation of many dead blogs. I've had nail blogs, photography blogs, weight loss blogs, movie blogs, cake.... you get the picture.

Nothing stuck though. I felt too limited before. I didn't feel i should post bread recipes on a fancy nail blog or cool horror movie finds on a pretty sickly sweet cake blog. So this reincarnation is a big ball of it all. And the name? Well i racked my brain for a long time. Various song lyrics, sayings, band names, baking terms and nail-phile (geddit) things came to mind and i glanced up for inspiration and saw my much loved box sets. It was a close call between this and 'Fortune And Glory Kid' but someone had taken that! (As well as 'Throw Me The Idol'. Bastards)
